I grew up on the South Coast of England and have lived in Wales, Scotland and the Falkland Islands but now divide my time between Cornwall and London. My glass is an emotional response to the coastal landscapes that have had an influence on my life.

I began working in glass seven years ago. My work is inspired by the seascapes, geology and weather of the Cornish Coast. The colour, textures and patterns of this landscape find their way into my glass. Although I capture the moment on camera and in sketches, I find the process of translating the images into glass leaves a more lasting impact on my consciousness. I use a range of kiln-formed techniques but I am drawn to the pâte de verre technique. My forms are created using clay and wax. Sand from my favourite locations is often incorporated into my pieces to ‘ground’ my work, creating a sense of place.

I further developed my practice studying at the Royal College of Art (RCA). I now divide my time between Wadebridge in Cornwall and my studio in South Wimbledon.
